It’s Dangerous To Go Alone, Take This 🤝
I wanted to write a Twitter thread for this, but it turns out that 50 tweet threads aren’t effective or practical.
Instead, let’s talk about community and how a partnership between myself and xCollective will bring community builders, moderators, and blockchain enthusiasts into more leadership roles.
The Together Origin Story 👶
I felt lost when I became a community moderator for my first NFT community. I didn’t know how to meet other people doing this, and I knew I needed to find people who understood.
I solved this problem by befriending as many moderators as early as I could. I joined a bunch of Discord servers where my values aligned, noticed who the moderators were, and sent them a DM on Twitter to introduce myself.
This is one of the massive benefits of such a welcoming, nascent industry where everyone is eager to help, network, and lift one another.
I had been idly building this concept alone for a bit, then introduced it to some friends, and while it needed to sit on the back burner for a while, we are ready to bring this to the people who need it (and have asked for it) the most!
The xCollective values of courage, community, giving back, curiosity, accountability, and a mission to help our community access great job opportunities and successfully negotiate paid jobs in the crypto space that align with mine.

I wanted to make access to this community as inclusive, intentional, and purpose-driven as possible, so with that in mind, let’s take a look at the upcoming drop:

How will the allowlist work?
Of the 800 available tokens to mint, 350 will be chosen from those who apply. Those 350 will then choose 1–3 people to nominate (instructions here) for 700 added to the allowlist. The remaining 100 will be raffled from partner communities.
There will not be a public sale because we are inviting the best and brightest community builders to participate, grow, and help one another build the next generation of communities on the blockchain.
While there is no formal roadmap, we wanted to set a price that reflects accessibility and value while recognizing the hard work it takes to build a community of professionals ready and excited to participate.
All-Access Badges include all that comes with a Together Badge and a guaranteed once-a-month sponsorship session with myself. These can be purchased by teams as well and can be used in multiple configurations, so this is a fairly open-ended tier. đź‘€
Because this is a separate token we will need a secondary allowlist for anyone who would like to mint one of the All-Access Badges. See above.
But Wait, There’s More! 🚨
The main concept of Together is to build out formal coursework for community moderators and builders to gain an understanding of what it means to build community in the web3 space. Release date TBA.
This will be distributed via a subscription service through our friends over at Unlock as an access pass to a moderator course and direct mentorship for 30 days. There will be 25 slots in the first cohort at 0.2ETH each. Only holders of the Together NFT will be eligible to mint a Subscription Badge.
You’ll want to hold onto these as they are your key to accessing each session and will grant you access to an exclusive channel in the xCollective.
Once graduated, students will receive a free, non-transferable token of both appreciation and excellence, demonstrating to potential employers that they are ready to hit the ground running! This unlocks instant utility for holders by gaining preferred access to moderator positions in projects across the industry.
More to come in the following weeks on how the Subscription service will work over time and how you can level up. These graduate tokens will evolve as you attend courses to show progression to future employers. đź‘€

I am proud that one of my closest friends, Veronica Thompson, will provide generative traits for this collection which is also the first she has contributed to.

Joining Veronica will be xCollective artist Maleha Arif, one of the first artists I interviewed in web3. I’m so happy that Mel will be providing art, as her colors and style are unique, like all of us!
